FIU-RCMI investigators presented a poster Mindfulness, Anxiety and Depressive Symptomology among Hispanic Teens Participating in a Yoga Program (Clarke, R., Hospital, M., Sanjuan, J., Morris, S., Wagner, E) at the 31st Annual Research and Policy Conference on Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Behavioral Health in Tampa.

The presentation focused on the YogaTeens research study, which provided free yoga sessions to adolescents receiving outpatient mental health therapy. The results showed that mindfulness was related to anxiety, depression, and stress. Future research will include incorporating mindfulness into interventions addressing mental health.
