Marilyn Roman currently is the Chief Executive Officer at Miami-Dade Area Health Education Center, a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve access to quality health care services and provide innovative, preventive health education programs for underserved youth and adults in the community. She received her Masters in Health Services Administration from Florida International University.

During her professional career, she worked for the Florida Department of Health (Miami-Dade County) in programs involving all levels of public health — federal, regional, state. She was instrumental as Director of Operations in revamping the Healthy Start program for pregnant women and families in Miami-Dade County. She worked as a Contract Administrator for the Children’s Trust, a program in Miami Dade County to improve the lives of children and families through early intervention and prevention.

Marilyn is passionate about ensuring the underserved receive all available opportunities to improve quality of life and make informed decisions.
