Acknowledging Grant Support in Papers and Presentations

As an FIU-RCMI affiliated researcher, you should cite the NIMHD center grant in all publications and presentations. They must include an acknowledgment of NIH grant support and a disclaimer as follows:

Example 1: This research was supported in part by the National Institute On Minority Health and Health Disparities of the National Institutes of Health Under Award Number NIMHD (U54MD012393), Florida International University Research Center in Minority Institutions. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.

Example 2: The authors gratefully acknowledge use of the services and facilities supported in part by the National Institute On Minority Health and Health Disparities of the National Institutes of Health Under Award Number NIMHD (U54MD012393), Florida International University Research Center in Minority Institutions. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.

Additionally, if you received pilot funding from the FIU-RCMI and those funds were used in the work reported in a publication or presentation, include the FIU-RCMI grant number in your acknowledgments section.

When to Acknowledge Grant Support

If you have received any of the following types of support from the FIU-RCMI, please acknowledge the salient grant in your published or presented work.

  • Pilot grant support
  • Training grant support
  • Salary support
  • Office/cubicle space
  • Technical support (hardware, software, services)
  • Data Services (data sources, statistical consultation or programming, data contracts, etc.)
  • Info Services (lit searches, NIH publication reporting, etc.)
  • Communication Services (editorial, design, database, app, web, working papers, etc.)
  • Proposal or manuscript preparation help
  • Grants management help
  • Travel arrangements, event planning services
  • Reimbursements
