FIU-RCMI Research in Progress Seminar

On November 6, 62 researchers and community agency leaders attended the FIU-RCMI Research in Progress Seminar, “Community-Academic Partnerships for Research: Improving Pregnancy and Postpartum Outcomes in Miami-Dade County,” facilitated by Dr. Melissa Howard and Manuel Fermin, MPA. Dr. Howard and Mr. Fermin discussed ongoing community-based participatory research to improve pregnancy and postpartum outcomes in Miami-Dade County. Their current pilot project assesses the feasibility, acceptability and effectiveness of a free smart phone app that helps pregnant women reduce risk of stillbirth.
