New Faculty Hire under the FIU-RCMI/Provost Hire Initiative

The FIU-RCMI would like to welcome Dr. Michael Anastario, the newest member of Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work. Dr. Anastario was hired under the FIU-RCMI/Provost’s Cluster Hire Initiative, and will be joining the college as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

Dr. Anastario is an independent researcher with expertise in mixed qualitative and quantitative methods. Much of his work centers on the intersection of epidemiology, medicine, the humanities, and public health. Dr. Anastario’s current research focuses on examining two aspects of marginalized communities: 1) sexual and reproductive health and 2) diseases of the genitourinary system.
