Over 30 researchers attended the FIU-RCMI Research in Progress Series, featuring Dr.Gira Ravelo, Research Assistant Professor at Florida International University. Dr. Ravelo presented her work on FIU SALVA, which stands for Substance Abuse, Legal Aid, Violence, and HIV/AIDS, a bilingual (English and Spanish) mobile application that lists dozens of services in the Homestead, Fla. area, where the app prototype is currently being piloted.
