Dr. Mary Jo Trepka, Leader of the FIU-RCMI Investigator Development Core, was recognized as one of FIU’s 2019 Top Scholars. Awardees are recognized for groundbreaking contributions in research and teaching. Dr. Trepka, an infectious disease epidemiologist, was most recently awarded a $1.3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to study how patient-centered HIV care influences patients seeking medical care and their participation in treatment.
